Modified Taiji for Special Needs

This course is designed to teach care assistants and resource centre staff the exercises and methods that have been developed over the past seven years in my work with special needs groups. The exercises include qigong (chi kung) exercises, simplified Taiji Ruler form, simplified self-defence (where the clients learn basic hand releases through the use of circular movement) and tactile/descriptive skills through the “Coloured Energy Stones” game.

The 10-hour course is based on two 5-hour workshops

Syllabus: -

  • The 18 Posture Taiji Qigong (Tai Chi Chi Kung) exercises – the Shibashi
  • Simplified Taiji Ruler exercises
  • Basic self-defence hand releases
  • Tactile, and descriptive energy stones game
